This Mom And Her Family Have Been Celebrating Halloween For A Week!

  • The spooky season is officially here, and while activities are still limited indoors, one mom made sure there’s still room for celebration this Halloween for the whole family to enjoy.

Meet mommy Michelle Dacumos-Alingarog, Dr. Frankenstein behind a monster-rific Halloween table setting that’s filled with yummy but frightening meals! Michelle was proud of her little assistants, her kids, Yumi and Mateo, who helped set up the table.

The day of the dead table set up was complete with paper mache Halloween decors and was brought to life by Yumi and Mateo, who painted the decorations. Mommy Michelle got help from her two kids preparing the spooky dishes made to look like their straight from a Halloween lair.

Michelle says she often spends bonding time with her kids cooking or doing crafts in an interview with Smart Parenting. She says the kids love helping her out in the kitchen after their classes.

“Ever since my daughter and I spend a lot of our bonding moments doing art, baking or cooking…Now that my son is a toddler na and is able to play with us in the kitchen, he also joins us in our baking activities,” Michelle said.

    Week-long Halloween activities

Apart from cooking, the Alingarog family takes Halloween pretty much seriously, and the Halloween table setting is just part of the family’s week-long celebration of the spooky season. Since Monday, October 25, 2021, mommy Michelle has prepared one Halloween activity for her kids.

“I want to spark their creativity by doing these activities.”

If you don’t have any idea yet on what Halloween activity to prepare for your kids, you can take note from these activities prepared by Michelle:

    • Halloween paper mache painting
    • Halloween D-I-Y costume
    • Baking Halloween-themed desserts
    • Scavenger hunt
    • Nature art with dried leaves and twigs
    • Dalgona candy making (inspired by the hit Korean series Squid Game)

Although these activities are time-consuming and take a lot of effort to pull off, Michelle says it’s all worth. She notes the importance of making sure their kids get to keep happy memories.

“We’re going into the 2nd year of the pandemic na and I feel like they’re missing out on so many adventures in the outside world. I want them to enjoy time at home and have happy memories even if they’re in the house lang.”

Michelle and her family really love celebrating Halloween, especially dressing up in costumes. This year, Yumi and Mateo already donned two costumes, one inspired by “Squid Game” and another by “101 Dalmatian.”
