    The nearby province of Rizal remains under Alert Level 3 but based on research and feedback from parents, there are outdoor spaces in various municipalities that welcome kids. (Read what Alert Level 3 means for your children here)

    That said, it is best to call ahead and ask whether kids are accepted due to the ever-changing guidelines brought by the pandemic. If you can, go to these places on weekdays to avoid crowds. Our advice is to still travel with caution as COVID-19 remains a threat.

    Sapinit Road in Antipolo City

    Found in the city boundaries of Antipolo and Rizal is this long stretch of road touted as “Little Baguio.” The more than 2-kilometer road offers a scenic view of pine trees lined up along the road side.

    The privately-owned property has become a popular spot for families looking to have a picnic where their children can enjoy fresh air. Entrance is free but there are no stores inside, so make sure to bring your own food and drinks, and remember to practice CLAYGO or clean as you go.

    How to get there: On Waze, you can find and pin Sapinit Road, Antipolo, Calabarzon. If you’re coming from SM City Masinag, drive up to Marcos Highway then turn left before reaching the arch that says “You are entering Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape.” Drive further for around 3 kilometers until you reach the place.

    Near Sapinit Road is the newly opened Pestaño Farm that offers eat-all-you-can samgyupsal along with a unique farmstay experience — fruit picking, animal feeding, and even pony rides!

    The Dinosaur Park in Angono, Rizal

    Found along the Manila East Road Double Highway, Angono-Binangonan boundary is this park that features two giant dinosaurs. It’s a landscape art installation by the Angkla Art Gallery and Music Wizard Cafe.

    Take note that this is a small alfresco space between the gallery and cafe, so it’s a nice place to visit if you live near the area. Entrance is free but minors are not yet allowed to dine in. According to their Facebook page, they are able to walk around and take photos.
