FDA: Nestle Recalls Batch Of Gold Honey Cereal That May Contain Plastic

  • Nestle Philippines, Inc. recalls two batches of “Gold Honey Sweetened Corn Flakes” that may contain pieces of plastic, according to an advisory released by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

    These are the following batch codes affected by the recall as listed by the FDA advisory, dated October 27, 2021:

    • Batch code: 12220631DE, expiry date: August 10, 2022 (220 g)
    • Batch code: 12230631DF, expiry date: August 11, 2022 (370 g)

    The batch code and expiry date can be found in the packaging box of the cereal product. Consumers who purchased affected batches or are unsure how to identify the batch code are advised to contact Nestle’s customer hotline 02-8898-0061.

    “No other Nestle Breakfast Cereals product variant and size is affected by this recall,” Nestle Philippines assured.

    Nestle initiated the recall after a customer in Taiwan found small pieces of plastic inside a bag of Nestle Gold Honey Flakes 10 kg. The local FDA said they have not received any similar complaints in the country.
