  • The Department of Education (DepEd) has identified the 100 public schools that will participate in the pilot implementation of limited face-to-face classes starting November 15, 2021.

In partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), DepEd declared schools included in the list passed thorough inspection, assuring their readiness and safety in conducting in-person classes.

As for the 20 participating private schools, the final list will be released on November 12, 2021, according to Education Assistant Secretary Malcolm Garma. The pilot implementation of limited face-to-face classes for private schools will be on November 22, 2021.

The 100 qualified public schools will strictly follow precautionary measures against COVID-19 during the pilot implementation of limited face-to-face classes. (Read the guidelines here)

How schools are preparing for the resumption of face-to-face classes

Less than two weeks before the pilot study begins, preparations are underway in all the 100 public schools. This is to ensure that they can efficiently implement the safety protocols against COVID-19. The success of this pilot implementation will eventually be the basis to allow more students to participate in in-person classes.

If your child’s school is among the first schools to reopen for face-to-face classes, this is probably how their facilities will look come November 15.
