Many celebrities who become parents are often faced with whether or not they will let their children enter show business. If you ask Dingdong Dantes now, he says he and wife Marian Rivera will give their their kids their full support if they want to be actors too — BUT they have one condition.
During his guesting on Slater Young and Kryz Uy‘s Skypodcast, Dingdong was asked if he and Marian were open to the idea of Zia and Ziggy following their parents’ footsteps as actors.
The dad of two admitted it was still an “ongoing debate” between him and Marian. But one thing is for sure: the kids can enter the entertainment industry as long as they prioritize their studies.
“Clear kami na basta kailangan aral muna ‘yung kids. If they decided to do so, sige. Basta we already presented options to them kung talagang trip nila siyempre suportahan namin. Ang tanong nalang kung kailan,” Dingdong said.
Dingdong shared Zia has shown interest in singing and acting that he found super adorable. He said Zia managed to use his laptop to record herself while singing once.
“‘Di ko alam kung magagalit ako kasi ‘yung gitara ko tumatama. Pero at the same time siyempre, nahumaling ako, my heart just melted, ang galing… ang haba pa ng spiels!” he exclaimed doting on his unica hija.
Limiting Zia and Ziggy’s exposure to the public
Dingdong also shared he and Marian take their children’s privacy seriously. The celebrity couple has been opposed to setting up separate social media accounts for Zia and Ziggy.

The celebrity couple also agreed to set a certain age to stop posting about the kids on social media. Kryz opened up this subject by saying her mom told her to stop posting about their son, Scott Knoa Young, as soon as he starts to attend school.
“My mom wants me to stop posting about him by the time he goes to school kasi baka ma-bully raw or ma-kidnap,” Kryz said.
Dingdong immediately agreed to this saying: “Kami may ganoong usapan. Pagdating ng 6-years-old, stop na.“
The actor adds that this is also their way to make sure that their kids can live a “normal life” in a way that they “can roam around and play with kids without being judged.”
