Anna Cay On Breastfeeding: ‘Nakaka-Stress Pag Wala Kang Maibigay Sa Anak Mo’

  • Beauty vlogger and first-time mom Anna Cay gets candid about facing the challenges of breastfeeding. She says she now understands why some mommies feel like “giving up on breastfeeding.”

Anna gave birth to Alexei Constantin Cay Villalobos, or Baby X as they call him, on October 3, 2021 via C-section. Days since they welcomed Baby X’s arrival, the online content creator shared her struggles on breast milk supply. She revealed she had to get breast milk from a friend.

“Nakakastress pag wala kang maibigay sa anak mo. I’m just trying to trust the process na lalabas din sya,” she said.

She then thanked her friend and her baby for sharing her milk stash. “Thank you to my generous sister from another mother @adrielleann sa milk stash and kay Baby Casper niya for sharing,” she adds. (These hospitals are available for human milk donations and requests.)

While admittedly stressed by her current breastfeeding situation, Anna says she is hopeful for the day when she can produce enough milk for Baby X’s “milk mukbang”. (Read tips on on how to increase breast milk supply here)

Anna also shed light on postpartum depression (PPD) and the importance of being surrounded by a good support system as a new mom.

“Also, POSTPARTUM IS REAL. It pays to have a good support system because I cannot do it on my own, for now,” she said. (Read more about PPD here)

Each mom has her unique breastfeeding journey, and for many it isn’t an easy one. As one mom from our Facebook group the Smart Parenting Village said, breastfeeding is not just “simply sitting down and feeding the baby.”
