Anne Curtis Says Bathing Dahlia ‘One Of The Scariest Things!’: The Hack That Worked For Her

  • Like most first-time mothers, actress and host Anne Curtis also has her “praning mom” moments.

In an event for a baby skincare brand Anne admits to her “kapraningan.” She recalls moments like calling the midwife hotline in Australia for concerns with her daughter Dahlia, and doing a deep dive on all things concerning her baby, like researching how breastfeeding affects and benefits her or the ingredients that go into the products that she uses on Dahlia’s skin.

When asked if she thinks that she’ll ever loosen up, Anne says that she has become a bit more laidback compared to before, but she proudly says, “I’m a super praning mom, I don’t think that will ever change!”

One of the scariest things that can set off the “kapraningan” in any mom is a first-timer bathing her newborn. Anne says she experienced the same.

“You know as a first-time mom, I would have to say that it really was one of the most scariest things. But you know, you learn about the proper way of holding a baby, securing them, holding them under the arm. You get used to it, then it becomes a lot easier.

“But as they get older, it becomes a fun time of the day. Like Dahlia is so excited now to take baths. She loves the water, she’s a little water baby,” she adds.

Anne shared a fun bath time hack she learned that makes Dahlia look forward to the routine. “It’s really about learning what’s good for their skin as well as making it fun. We’ve always had Johnson’s Baby Cotton Touch, and now as a toddler she’s moved up to milk plus rice. If you put it under running water, it turns into a bubble bath for the kids.

“So not only is it good for her skin; she finds it fun. With the bubbles and everything, so there’s a double purpose!”

Anne jokingly says that bath time is shorter when her husband and Dahlia’s dad, Erwan Heussaff, takes charge. “Erwan was there for me the whole time. Parang nagmamadali? So now I make sure that ako na lang,” Anne says, laughing.

Bathing a baby is one of the biggest challenges that a new mom goes through, but Anne took it all in stride. Congratulations on learning the ropes of motherhood! You’re doing so well!
