Angel Locsin’s Mother-In-Law Tells Son Neil Arce: ‘Maging Under Ka’

• In case you missed it, Angel Locsin, 36, and Neil Arce, 38, announced over the weekend that they just got married, and they dropped the news in the most low-key way: through a 30-second photo montage shown at the very end of their latest vlog!

  Titled “Lipat Bahay Gang,” the vlog showed the couple packing their things in their respective houses as they prepared to move in together. The actress was assisted by her assistant Goy, manager Patricia Co Keng, and makeup artist Mike Bawa, while the film producer was assisted by his mom, Jean.

  It’s unclear whether Mommy Jean was aware that her 38-year-old son would soon be saying ‘I do’ in a civil wedding before the lockdown, but what was obvious was that she was excited for Neil and her soon-to-be daughter-in-law to be moving in together. She describes Angel as “napaka-down to earth” and says “parang match kami.”

  “Super happy talaga ako na magpapakasal ka na ngayon kasi 38 years old ka na,” Mommy Jean says. “Alam mo ‘yun lang naman ang request ko sa’yo ‘di ba, na sana magpakasal ka habang maganda pa ako.”

  She adds, “Finally Angel will take care of you and not me anymore.” LOL — Mommy Jean is one cool mom!

  While helping Neil pack, Mommy Jean was asked to give marriage advice to her son. All we can say is, it looks like Angel won’t have a problem dealing with her mother-in-law.

  “Ang advice ko lang, [the] best thing: Maging under ka. Sundin mo lahat ng gusto ni Angel para masaya kayo.”

  She adds, “Ikaw dapat ang mag-asikaso ng bahay. Ikaw dapat ang mag-asikaso kay Angel. ‘Pag nagkaanak kayo, ikaw dapat ang mapuyat, hindi si Angel.”

  She also shares another piece of advice, and it’s based from her experience. “As a wife, kung gusto mong maging masaya ang asawa mo, ipag-shopping mo. Happy wife, happy life!” Agree!

  Mommy Jean is also confident that her son would take the best care of his wife. “Sa akin pa lang, sa pag-aalaga mo sa’kin, kayang-kaya mo na ‘yan,” she shares. “Sobrang bait na anak ‘yan.”

  At the end of the vlog, Neil and Angel also shared their big news: They were already newlyweds! “Oh by the way… since filming this vlog, we decided not to wait and just do it,” the couple wrote.

  Turns out, the couple had a civil wedding in Taguig just before the second enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila was announced — attended only by 10 of the couple’s closest family and friends (yes, Mommy Jean was present!), and officiated by Taguig mayor Lino Cayetano.
