Vin Abrenica Answers Sophie Albert: ‘Do You Believe Men Can’t Resist Temptation?’

  • Engaged couple Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert recently weighed in on the now-viral statement about men being unable to resist temptation.

In their latest vlog titled, “Questions We’ve Never Asked Each Other + Mukbang,” the new parents sat down to answer personal questions and discussed relationship matters including cheating.

Sophie asked Vin point-blank: “Do you really believe that men can’t resist temptation if temptation is there? There are people that say that men cannot resist the temptation to cheat.”

Vin answered that while everyone can be tempted, he thinks it is unfair to conclude that all men are unable to resist temptation.

“Mayroon talagang temptations na nangyayari sa’tin,” the actor shared. “Pero ang nakakalimutan ng statement na ‘yun is that God gave us a choice, and that’s His gift to humans, to man.”

Sophie agreed, saying that a person has free will, while Vin said cheating is a matter of choice.

“Binigyan rin Niya tayo ng choice, to choose what is right and what is wrong,” the dad shares.

“May taong cheater. Will he always be a cheater all his life? It’s a choice. You chose to cheat, or you chose to be tempted,” he adds.

Vin also says that men aren’t the only ones capable of cheating. “It’s not a matter of sex, biology. Kung lalaki ka or babae ka.”

The dad shared his advice to couples who are facing difficulties in their relationship. “If it’s not working in the first place, kapag hindi mo nakukuha… why would you get something from other girls? Why not consult your partner first?”

Communication and working on addressing each other’s shortcomings are also crucial in any relationship. “’This is what I want. Hindi mo maibigay? Then, ok, ‘di mo maibigay ‘yun sakin, then I think our relationship may be at risk,” Vin said.

“Kung makapag-agree kayo na at risk nga ‘yung relationship, kung ayaw ninyo pa rin ang isa’t isa, then at least you have closure. Maghiwalay kayo. Then you do the stuff that you want to do,” he adds. “At least you’re not going to cheat, but you’re going to do what you want that can satisfy you.”

At the end of the segment, Vin emphasized, “You always have a choice.”

Vin and Sophie got engaged in December 2020. They revealed the news in February 2021, along with the announcement that they were expecting a child. A month later, Sophie gave birth to their daughter, Avianna Celeste.
