So something ~interesting~ happened to Iya Villania. On Instagram Stories, the Kapuso host posted a conversation she overheard between two mall guards. And the topic of conversation: Her.
Here’s how it went:
Kuya Guard 1 to Kuya Guard 2: “Nandiyan si Iya Villania.”
Kuya Guard 2: “Sino?”
Kuya Guard 1: “Si Iya Villania. Mukha siyang lalaki.”
In her next post, Iya said that that she “heard everything over their radio.” Okay, mighty cringey indeed. But Iya took the whole thing lightheartedly and basically said there’s nothing wrong with a woman who looks masculine. In her last post, Iya shared a selfie and wrote, “Pogi ba?”

She continued with encouraging words to women who were apprehensive to get short hair because of the fear of looking boyish: “If you’ve been wanting to try short hair but afraid of looking like a boy, JUST DO IT!
It feels great and no matter what, you’re gonna find a way to make it work anyway! So if you want to try something new that you’ve always been afraid to do, DO IT NOW! It’s the best time to!””
