Erwan Heussaff Says ‘Being Vaccinated Is A Privilege So Don’t Be Choosy’

• Hinikayat ni Erwan Heussaff ang lahat na huwag maging mapili sa mga brand ng bakuna laban sa COVID-19.

  Kahapon, July 22, naturukan ng kanyang second dose ng Chinese-made vaccine na Sinovac si Erwan.

  Ayon sa mister ni Anne Curtis, ang mabakunahan ay maituturing na isang prebilehiyo kaya huwag na raw maging “choosy.”

  Saad ni Erwan, “Finally fully vaccinated with my 2nd dose of Sinovac today.

  “Apparently, if I would have gotten vaccinated with any of the other Big 4, it’s not socially acceptable to say it, because I would be showing off my privilege (people online need to chill… ).

  “The way I see it, anyone getting vaccinated at this point, regardless of the brand, is privileged, so don’t be choosy. If you can get it, do it.

  “Some people have been waiting for months to receive one dose in the Philippines and some people here have to wait in line for hours (days?) for their shots.

  “Thankfully, my experience was organized, and the wait was manageable (Thanks Makati!).”

  Sabi pa ni Erwan, umorder siya ng American-made vaccine na Moderna ilang buwan na ang nakararaan para sa kanyang kumpanya ngunit hindi pa tiyak kung kailan ito darating.

  Naging balisa raw siya sa kakahintay kaya nagparehistro na siya sa local government unit nila.

  Lahad niya, “I ordered Moderna for our companies’ months ago but have yet to receive the shipment.

  “I got anxious of waiting and just decided to sign up in Makati as an A4 instead a couple of months back.

  “Knowing that eventually every country in the world is slowly going to start implementing no vaccine, no *insert here, policies (travel, eating out, concerts, etc.).”

  Vaccine efficacy

  Marami ang nagsasabing mas maganda umano ang mga bakunang gawa sa Amerika katulad ng Pfizer at Moderna at Western-made na AstraZeneca. Mas mataas daw kasi ang efficacy nito laban sa COVID-19.

  Pero tanong ni Erwan sa netizens: “When did everyone become a vaccine expert?

  “I’m so tired of knee jerk opinions on Viber groups, Twitter and Facebook.

  “At the end of the day Sinovac is still an effective Covid-19 vaccine.

  “Whether it’s 50% or 95%, it’s still something.

  “Just because you’re vaccinated does not mean you can go hugging strangers again (did you ever do that?).”

  Ang pinakamahalaga raw ngayon ay mayroong dagdag na proteksiyon laban sa virus anuman ang efficacy ng bakuna.

  Saad niya, “Recently, lots of articles have been coming out about vaccinated health care workers getting infected in Thailand and Indonesia, but they are still small numbers compared to how many Healthcare workers, in total, who have been vaccinated there (I think it shows a 93%++ protection rate).

  “So, stop trying to be the smartest person in the room and listen to people who know what they are talking about (not me, the doctors).

  “In any case, it looks like ALL vaccine brands are now discussing potential needs of booster shots with other vaccine brands, due to the new variants.

  “Just goes to show that no vaccine has a 100% efficacy rate.

  “Just like condoms, but you still use them, right? #SinoVaxed #DadLecture

  “P.S It’s free from the government. That doesn’t happen often.”

  Pinapurihan naman si Erwan ng maraming celebrities sa paggamit nito ng kanyang platform upang ipaalam sa anti-vaxxers ang kahalagahan ng bakuna.
