Danica Sotto On Husband Marc Pingris’s PBA Retirement: ‘Forever Cheerleader’

  • Danica Sotto is proud to be the “forever cheerleader” of her husband Marc Pingris, who recently retired from professional basketball after 16 years of playing.

Danica made public her suppport through Instagram just four hours after Marc announced his retirement from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) on the same social media platform late Tuesday night, May 25, 2021.

The TV host and “cooking mama” shared a photo of her and her husband giving each other a tight embrace. It was apparently taken after a PBA game played by the one called “Pinoy Sukaragi.”

Danica said in the caption, “Every time Marc has a game, especially an important one, ‘yung tipong mga do or die games… di mo makaka-usap ‘yan! He’s quiet and not his usual kulit self. Naka-focus talaga sa game. Minsan ilang araw pa.”

She added, “I give him his space kasi nag-iisip talaga ‘yan nang malalim. But once the game is over…He will always look for me and the kids in the crowd so he can hug us and say he loves us.”

Danica and Marc have two kids:  a boy named Michel, 12, and a girl they call  Caela, 8.

“Pag ganyan na siya sa ‘akin, it means mission accomplished na siya. Nanalo na team nila, para sa family namin o kaya para sa bayan.”

Danica went on admitting, “I will definitely miss watching him play but I’m also excited for what lies ahead. I know God has even greater plans.”

She also expressed her gratitude “to everyone who has supported Marc in his basketball career.” She said, “Thank you so much! We are eternally grateful for all your love and support.”

In closing, Danica reiterated her support for Marc, tagging him in her post. She declared, “I will be forever proud of what you’ve accomplished. I’ll always be by your side. Love you so much!” She then used the hashtag #forevercheerleader for him.
