Ruffa Gutierrez Salutes Single Parents: ‘The Road Is Never Easy But We Persevere’

• ICMYI, Ruffa Gutierrez‘s firstborn Lorin Gutierrez just finished high school at The British School Manila, and proud mom Ruffa couldn’t help but get emotional on social media!

  Ruffa took to Instagram to share photos from their intimate family celebration for Lorin, saying she was getting teary-eyed as she looked back at the emotional day.

  She also took the chance to honor her fellow single parents, writing: “Today I want to salute all the hard-working single mothers who have raised their children with courage and strength on their own.”

  “The road is never easy but we persevere. Keep the faith that God will reward our struggles with blessings we can’t even begin to imagine. Congratulations again to my graduate Lorini Pie!”

  Ruffa and her former husband Yilmaz Bekas officially parted ways in 2007.

  In February 2021, Ruffa opened up about an emotional conversation she had with Yilmaz, where they talked about co-parenting their daughters Lorin and Venice whom he hasn’t seen in 13 years.

  “Nag-uusap kami ni Yilmaz ulit, and nare-realize niya that time is so precious. That we’re getting old na, and he wants to spend time with the kids. So, sabi ko kay Yilmaz…let’s try to be co-parents to our children first, you know. Kasi hanggang ngayon, ako daw ang pinaka-greatest love niya.”

  Lorin recently joined showbiz under Viva Artists Agency. Ruffa, on the other hand, is pursuing a degree in Communication Arts!

  She announced the good news on Insta, writing: “After 34 years of working in the entertainment industry, I have chosen to further my education. Not only do I want to fulfill a long-held dream and take control of the next chapter of my life, I want to set a good example for my children.”
