QC Doctor Shares ‘Pro Tips’ For Booking Your COVID Vaccine Slot

  • The Philippines has so far received more than eight million COVID-19 vaccine doses, but less than one million Filipinos have been vaccinated.

Government agencies and local government units have yet to ramp up the current daily rate and think of ways to efficiently roll out the current supply of vaccine doses before they expire.

In Quezon City, a local doctor posted a set of pro tips for securing a vaccine slot in her city.

It looks a lot like making a booking during a seat sale, so ready that alarm and exercise your fast fingers to make sure that you get a vaccination schedule.

Here’s what you can do to get a COVID vaccine slot:

    1. Make sure that you’ve registered through eZConsult. Take note that you stll have to book your slot after approval of your Covid-19 Electronic Immunization Registry or CEIR.
    2. Like and follow Quezon City Government’s page on Facebook
    3. Make sure that your follow setting is set to “Favorites.” This way, any post from the page will show up first on your Facebook feed.
    4. The Quezon City Government page regularly posts an announcement on the next opening of vaccine slots. On May 23, 5 p.m., for example, they announced that 1,650 slots for May 24 to 26 at the Araneta Coliseum would be made available on eZConsult at exactly 6 p.m.
    5. When you see such announcement, set your alarm five minutes ahead. For the Araneta Coliseum example, slots ran out just after two hours, so you need to be fast.
    6. When the alarm rings, open your eZConsult and log in. It is recommended that you use a desktop or a laptop rather than your mobile phone.
    7. At the correct time, refresh your browser and wait for the slots to show up.
Choose your COVID vaccine slot, then print your QR code.
    8. Don’t forget to bring your printout, a valid ID, pen, and alcohol spray on your vaccination day.

As of writing, only A1 (healthcare workers), A2 (seniors), and A3 (adults with comorbidity) priority groups are being vaccinated by LGUs.
