Nadine Samonte has been going through a difficult third pregnancy as she is also dealing with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APAS) while carrying her baby to term.
Rather than staying depressed, she has accepted and embraced her conditions, taking the good with the bad. She even made it the highlight of her recent maternity shoot.
On her Instagram, the soon-to-be mom of three shared a photo of herself surrounded by prescriptions, injections, medicine, and test results. It shows the tough journey she has been going through since being diagnosed with PCOS and APAS back in 2015.
In the post’s caption, she writes, “I chose to have a pictorial like this why? Because lahat ng injections, bills, reseta, gamot lahat ng nakapaligid sa akin is the reality of having APAS and PCOS.”
“I love being pregnant kahit mahirap kasi blessing ni Lord ito and I’ll be forever grateful na biniyayaan pa kami ng isa pa,” she adds.

She shares in her post, “Last week I just broke down, na-depress ako ng hindi ko alam, very unusual for me kasi sa 2 kids ko hindi ako nagkaganun pero I overcame it. Ang hirap ng feeling ng hindi mo alam kung ano nangyayari sa’yo pero with the help of the Lord, my husband, my mom and my mom in law they helped me kaya ako nakabalik sa sarili ko. It’s hard pero here I am getting stronger each day and excited sa pagdating ng bunso namin.”
APAS and PCOS in women are conditions that get worse if not treated properly. APAS is an autoimmune disorder that attacks or damages cells. It makes the body form blood clots, and it can raise the risk for miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery, or high blood pressure during pregnancy.

Nadine suffered from APAS and PCOS back when she was pregnant with her first child, Heather Sloane, and had a delivery scare with her second child, Austin Titus. For her third pregnancy, the mom revealed that she almost lost the baby during her first trimester.
At 27 years old, Nadine was informed by her doctor that it will be difficult for her to conceive and be pregnant, advising her to go the surrogacy route instead. But her perseverance to continue fighting for her pregnancy is truly inspiring, and gives hope to women who are trying to have a baby and those who have the same condition as her.
For those seeking inspiration, Nadine has this to say in her post, “Ang dami kong pinagdaanan sa pagbubuntis ko and lahat ng ito super worth it. Madami gusto magkaanak at isa ako sa pinagpala kaya iniingatan ko ito. Sa mga gusto magkaanak ‘wag kayo mawalan ng pagasa because ibibgay ni Lord sa tamang panahon.”
