These Tagaytay Restaurants And Cafes Are Perfect For Your 2021 Road Trip

  • As the lockdown restrictions ease because of the vaccine rollouts, people are going out again to safely dine in restaurants and cafes outside their homes.

    One of the popular places to go to for that well-deserved break and a change of scenery is Tagaytay City. It has always been the go-to weekend getaway option for people from Metro Manila before the pandemic started.

    If you’re headed to Tagaytay and want to try some of the new restaurants and cafes that recently opened during the pandemic, we have just the list to guide you:

    Coffee & Dreams

    Coffee & Dreams is a new cafe in Tagaytay City that offers unlimited brewed coffee from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon and 4 to 6 p.m. on weekdays. For weekends, they have this from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.

    They also have other items on the menu that you can enjoy when you’re not there for the unlimited brewed coffee, like ice-blended drinks or hot tea, and pair it with their pasta or pastries!

    They have the usual fare such as carbonara, lasagna, cheesecake, and chocolate cake priced at P200 and below.

    Farmer’s Table

    Who doesn’t love dishes that use fresh ingredients? If you want to try a good farm-to-table restaurant with a stunning and relaxing view of nature, Farmer’s Table should be on your itinerary!

    This new restaurant, which sources their ingredients from the Nurture Wellness estate, serves stone-fired pizza such as the pizza aptly named Tagaytay which has smoked fish, sauteed kale, malunggay basil pesto, caramelized onions, gorgonzola, and candied walnuts.

    As for their specials, they have a Kalderetang “Osso Bucco” which is made with beef shanks in kaldereta sauce, bell peppers, carrots, malunggay basil pesto, fried potatoes, and Malacos Pecorino.

    Greenhouse Cafe Tagaytay

    Another restaurant where you can enjoy nature and good food is Greenhouse Cafe! This restaurant-cafe is said to be the very first greenhouse and cafe in Tagaytay where you can enjoy food, a relaxing ambiance, and go shop for rare plants, too.

    A few of the unique or interesting dishes you can find here are the Bacon Cheese Croquette (P220), Laksa Lemak Soup (P220), Mushroom Truffle Pasta (P220), Steamed Soy & Ginger Fish Fillet (P270), and USDA Angus Beef Tapsilog (P200).

    You can pair this with a dessert and your choice of drink afterward!

    Napa at Crosswinds

    Napa at Crosswinds is one of the more popular new restaurants in Tagaytay, mostly because it’s al fresco and because of how gorgeous the place is. Inside the establishment, it looks like a cabin with its interiors mostly made of wood.

    Even if you’re dining inside the establishment, it’s still an open-air affair as the doors and windows are all open, revealing a view of the outdoors.

    But if you really want to go for al fresco, you can seat yourself outdoors, too. They have wooden tables set up and open tents where you are surrounded by trees and garden lights.

    At Napa, you can find different cafe staples, from hot and iced coffee, tea, burgers, pasta, pastries, and desserts. For a more relaxed or romantic experience, they also have a wine selection, cheese, and cold cuts you can order!

    Siglo Brew

    If you want to relax and enjoy happy hour in Tagaytay, make your way to Siglo Brew where you can enjoy a glass of their craft beer. Siglo Brew’s craft beer selection includes a Pinya Cream Ale, Tagaytay Wheat Beer, Taal IPA, Barako Stor their Chicken Empanadaout, and Beer Flight.

    You can pair it with their bar chow: Sisig Nachos Overload, Pica-Pica Platter, Sari-Sari Skewers, or Pinoy Wings.

    For the designated drivers and ones avoiding alcohol, you can try their coffee instead. They use beans such as Liberica from Lipa City, Batangas and Robusta from Mendez Cavite.
