After Aga Muhlach And Familly Got Vaccinated, Netizens Ask About Their Category

• We applaud anyone who gets vaccinated against COVID-19. The vaccine is protection we all need, but the rollout of the vaccines has been, well, slow. Social media has become rife with appointment complaints and accusations of jumping the line.

  That’s why a post by the City Government of Muntinlupa’s Facebook page has been getting attention — and mixed reactions — after it showed photos of Aga Muhlach, wife Charlene Gonzalez, and their 19-year old twins, Atasha and Andres, getting their jabs.

  Part of the post read: “Isa ang pamilya ni Aga Muhlach na sumailalim sa step by step line at registration, naganap ang pagbabakuna sa Festival Mall Underground Parking. Kasabay nila ang iba’t-ibang tao mula sa Alabang, Ayala, atbp. Taos-pusong pasasalamat ang kanilang ipinaabot sa pamahalaang lungsod.”

  Together with the text were 31 uploaded photos, some of which showed the Muhlach family, from their arrival at the vaccination site to Aga and his blood pressure vitals being taken. The family also had their pictures taken at the photo booth with the Muntinlupa “MunCoVac” campaign poster.

  Some comments on the Muntinlupa City government’s Facebook page wished the family well. But the majority of the commenters wondered under which category the Muhlach family belonged.

  “Kasabay ko pala nag 1st dose vaccine ang family Muhlach kahapon. God bless po,” wrote one netizen.

  “Good for Aga and his family but we would like to know what category they were registered under? As far as your publications go, A1-A3 palang yung pwede mabakunahan,” another commented.

  “Frontliner ang husband ko wala pa natatanggap na text. Nauna pa sila,” one follower reacted. Another asked, “Bakit sila nakapag pa bakuna na? May comorbidities din ba ang mga anak nila?”

  On her personal Facebook account, Tez Navarro of the Muntinlupa Public Information office posted five photos with the Muhlachs during their vaccination. In the comments section, she answered the questions about the family’s category in the vaccine priority list.

  She replied to one: “Actually Aga is a resident of Muntinlupa, registered at Muncovac was texted for ther schedule, they fall under A3 with medcert issued by their doctors (private). they followed step by step until the end…Lahat po ay pwedeng magpabakuna basta sumunod sa patakaran. At yun din naman ginawa nila Aga and others.”

  Earlier, One News reported the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will seek an explanation on the vaccination of Aga and his family from the Muntinlupa City government.

  “I’ll look into this. We haven’t received details except what is in the news,” the same news quoted Interior Secretary Eduardo Año on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. The department added that it will look into the matter to see if any vaccination protocols were not followed.

  Currently, those in the national government’s priority list for Covid-19 vaccination are medical frontliners (A1), senior citizens (A2), and persons with comorbidities (A3). Año also said the national government has begun rolling out vaccination for economic frontliners who fall under the A4 category.
