Aquino Sisters Thank Noynoy’s ‘Tropa’ At Times Street Led By Housekeeper Yolly Yebes

  • The Aquino sisters have confirmed the death of their brother Philippine President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and made sure to thank the people they called his “tropa,” including Yaya Yolly Yebes, who was with Noynoy for 30 years.

Kris Aquino shared a video of sister Pinky Aquino-Abellada addressing reporters with a prepared statement. She confirmed that Noynoy “died peacefully in his sleep” at 6:30 a.m. due to renal disease secondary to diabetes.

Noynoy was already in and out of the hospital before the pandemic, but his medical team fully respected his privacy, Pinky said.

“Nais namin magpasalamat sa lahat ng mga doctor at buong medical team sa pag-alaga sa kapatid namin. Naramdaman namin bilang mga kapatid niya that they did everything to make him comfortable. They became compassionate friends who gave him true respect by valuing and protecting his privacy.”

Pinky thanked the people who were loyal to the former president, especially those with him at his home in Times Street, Quezon City.

Salamat.”

It will be recalled that Noynoy brought Yolly at the Batasang Pambansa in 2015 when he made his final SONA address.

“And I would like to introduce to you Yolly Yebes, who has been with me for the past 20 years: You never fail to make sure I am able to eat my meals at the proper time; you prepare my things for all my trips, whether domestic or foreign; and you have cared not just for me, but also for those I work with in government.

“Whenever I tell you we have a meeting and ask if you could prepare us something to eat, you don’t have to ask ‘when’ or ‘how many people.’ I never have to worry about those preparations, because you think of everything. Yolly, I wanted you to watch this SONA, so I could tell you: Thank you for all your help.”

Pinky also thanked Noynoy’s loyal friends who never failed to send him food and the priests and sisters who prayed for him. She even thanked constituents of the second district of Tarlac who voted for Noynoy back in 1998 when he first ran for congress.

Pinky, who stood with sisters Ballsy Aquno-Cruz, Viel Aqunino-Dee and Kris, ended the statement with a message for their brother.

“No words can express how broken our hearts are and how long it will take for us to accept the reality that he is gone. Mission accomplished ka na, Noy. Now, be happy with Mom and Dad. We love you and we are so blessed to have had the privilege to have had you as our brother. We will miss you forever, Noy.”
