Candy Pangilinan Says Son’s Kindness Reminds Her: That’s Your Reward For Being Good, Mom

  • Actress, comedienne and single mom Candy Pangilinan shared in her recent Facebook post a heartwarming story about her son, 17-year-old Quentin.

Quentin was preparing for his online classes and observed his mom admiring the laptop that she bought for him. When he realized that his mom liked the laptop, he immediately offered the brand new gadget to her.

Candy writes, “Quentin’s 1st day of class. Bought him a new laptop kasi nga borrowing lang siya ng ipad kay Nini. When he saw that I like his new laptop, sabi niya… ‘mom, yours na lang my laptop. That’s your reward for being good.

Exchange na lang tayo. I can have your old laptop.’”

It was Quentin’s first day of class, but without hesitation and out of the kindness of his heart, he was ready to give it up for his mom. Aww!

Candy shared in a recent video interview with Toni Gonzaga the story behind her becoming a single mom. Her husband left her as soon as she gave birth, stating that he left her “a souvenir” of their relationship.

But even through these hardships, she sees her partner having left her as a blessing, to prepare her for becoming a better mother to Quentin.

Anyone can see that this is true. Despite being diagnosed with autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Quentin is growing up to be a wonderful son. He is sensitive and compassionate towards other people’s needs.

As Candy says in her post, “Hay! Thank you Lord for a wonderful blessing. Sensitivity indeed warms the heart of the people around you. We need to be sensitive to the need of the people around us. Let’s start with our family members.”

She adds, “Have a great week ahead. Spread kindness.”

Quentin and Candy are lucky to have each other, and to have family all around them. She is definitely doing the best job as a mother!
