Solenn Heussaff Considers This The Best ‘First Aid’ For Baby Tili’s Skincare

  • A baby’s skin is soft and smooth, but it also needs extra care since it’s so delicate. But the steps are actually pretty straightforward. “There are just two parts actually: cleansing followed by moisturizing,” shares Dr. Giselle Adasa, a pediatric dermatologist in a previous SmartParenting.com.ph article.

For celebrity mom Solenn Heussaff, this happens twice a day with her daughter, Thylane or “Tili,” for short. “I make sure she bathes twice a day, and if needed, a quick shower during the day to help cool her,” she tells Smart Parenting.

Lucky for her, Tili is a water baby, and their favorite bonding moment is bath time. To make it even more fun, Solenn shares, “I use Cetaphil and mix it to her water to create the bubbles she loves, [then I] add her toys and sometimes music. I use a little more on her body and hair, so she feels clean and happy.”

While the celebrity mom admits that she’s never had to deal with skin problems with Tili, she’s discovered an effective ‘first aid’ to keep her daughter’s skin rash free, without needing a whole lot of products.

“Always make sure you rinse and dry your baby properly and wear light, breathable fabrics that don’t irritate the skin,” she says. “Avoid too much sun.”

But since all babies are different, Solenn encourages moms to stop comparing. It is better to do their research and consult with their doctor on what product is best for their little ones.

“When it comes to skin care products, technology is more advanced. We are lucky we live in these times and have the resources and studies we need to know what’s best for our child,” she says.

According to Cetaphil brand manager Barby Razon, one of the most common issues that they encounter is atopic dermatitis in babies or skin asthma. It’s why they have recently launched a trial pack size of Cetaphil Pro AD, which is specifically formulated for very dry, itchy, and eczema-prone skin.

If your baby is extra sensitive, they might benefit from this skin restoring wash and moisturizer that can help relieve the primary symptoms of atopic dermatitis. It gently cleanses without drying or irritating the skin, and it also replenishes its natural moisturizing factors.

Lastly, don’t forget about yourself, mom! It’s also important that you maintain a skincare routine to help keep you glowing.

For Solenn, her regimen is quite simple. “I always keep my face clean, and make sure I protect it during the day, and help care for it at night,” she says.

But if you’re experiencing skin problems like itching, acne, or pigmentation, Cetaphil brand manager Tammy Au recommends the Bright Healthy radiance line, which contains a cleanser, toner, and cream. You can use it for both daytime and nighttime.

“Cetaphil Bright Healthy Radiance has Niacinamide and Sea Daffodil, ingredients that are gentle enough even for the most sensitive skin as it addresses dark spots and uneven skin tone in 4 weeks,” says Tammy. It’s also safe for pregnant women, too.
