Jake Ejercito Has An Honest Response To Netizen Who Commented On This Goodbye Photo

• Andi Eigenmann and Jake Ejercito called it quits in September 2014, but they share a daughter, Ellie, 9. It was a rocky co-parenting start, as both will attest, but now the two have been doing well enough with their setup to talk about it.

  In our #SmartParentingExclusive last May 2021, Andi told us, “It really was not always that easy and it took a lot of growing up for me…I needed to set my priorities straight and realized what I had to focus on.”

  Jake has also opened up how he and Andi have figured out how to raise Ellie toegther. He has even met Philmar Alipayo, who has appeared in social media videos doing bits with his stepdaughter.

  On September 24, 2021, Jake posted a photo on Instagram that showed him and Ellie saying goodbye at the airport as the latter presumably goes off to Siargao, where Andi is based.

  In the caption, Jake wrote, “Never not tough,” which suggests how Ellie (or both of them) is when they separate.

  A netizen could not help but make a comment on the photo and Jake’s caption. The netizen wrote (published as is), “This is the big lesson of both parents before separating their lives, we must consider our children first [crying emoji]. Kaya ayaw ko mag asawa eh [laughing and crying emojis].”

  

  Jake replied to this comment on his Instagram.

  Jake replied to the comment, telling the netizen not to “overgeneralize” when it came to the co-parenting situation between him and Andi.

  Jake explained, “Lesson is here is not to overgeneralize. Not everyone has it easy, and forcing something that will never be will just be worse and even more traumatic for children.

  “These are the cards we were dealt and we try our best to make it work with Ellie’s well-being as top priority.”

  

  In the past, Jake has said that co-parenting goes through many phases. But if former partners are willing to put in the work, it can be successful.

  While Jake remains a single dad, Andi is engaged to Philmar and they have two kids, Lilo and Koa.
