While sharing the good news that her daughter has just graduated from grade school, Nikki Valdez also honored and gave thanks to her family members.

The actress and baker said in a series of Instagram posts that she got a lof help from her mother and siblings, as well as her current husband Luis Garcia. She’s divorced from her only child Olivia‘s Filipino-Canadian father.

Nikki said in the caption of the photo showing her mom and daughter: “I could not let this day pass without thanking my family. My Kuya Alfred and our bunso, Angeli, who would pick Olivia up from school when Mom and I can’t, and for your constant reminders for her to be a good girl.

She added, “And most especially my parents [when my Dad was still alive, he drove Olivia to school and he did so until before his last breath], my Mom–Ma THANK YOU for EVERYTHING.

“For watching over Olivia, cooking her baon and taking over Dad’s role to drive her to school when I am at work. I am lucky that you are still strong and healthy enough to do all these, and fill in the gaps for me.”

She then concluded, “So, congratulations to you, too, and all the other Grandparents and extended family members who we used to see most of the time at the gate in school waiting for their grandchildren during dismissal. I know you are all as proud as we parents are.”

Nikki also posted her photo with Luis and Olivia to extend her appreciation and love for her husband of almost three years.

Tagging Luis, the grateful wife said, “You are Godsent. After years of being a single parent, I think God saw and heard me. Thank you for being a good provider, Math tutor, my partner and Dada in raising Olivia. You are our God’s BEST, my love. Maraming, maraming salamat.”

Nikki recalled in another post how she overcame the hardships with the help of her family: “I can still vividly remember that day when I first inquired at a nursery school for Olivia.

“I was then already a solo parent with zero confidence and just enough money in my bank account as I was starting my acting career again after a 2-year hiatus from showbiz.”

She continued her story, “As I held on to that piece of paper with the tuition fee and requirements breakdown, I sat down [together with my Mom] in front of a small grotto inside the school grounds and asked, ‘Kakayanin ko po ba ito?’

“Fast-forward to this day, here we are, anak…You are graduating from grade school!!! I cannot help but look back to all of those days when I thought I could not support you on my own.”
